THE FRAMES PLAYED a very special gig in Whelan’s last night – and decided to use the opportunity to thank the fans for their support over the years.

The band were helping to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Dublin venue, which helped them get their start so many years ago. Tickets for the show went on sale last week and sold out in around two minutes. Two minutes, people.

According to Twitter reports, three songs into the gig Glen Hansard announced that the drinks were on them for the night.

EH, SOUND.

That was the sweatiest, most enjoyable three hours ever, AND The Frames paid for all the drink Instagram / emerthescreamer Instagram / emerthescreamer / emerthescreamer

We also have it on good authority that a couple got engaged on stage at the gig. Aww.

Music makes the people come together.

Sounds like the gig was a Revelation, right? We’ll get our coats.
